The sentence meant "Of the 1000 most well known artists, maybe 3 of them are from SC." Popular artists generally don't come from SC.

How many of those artists you listed have become popular recently?

Look, all the article implies is that SC has not produced a well known artist in a while. At least not compared to other states.
You listed 12. Half of which aren't well-known at all (I am from SC and have only heard of 8), and the ones who are became well-known over a decade ago.

The article's point is valid:

There have not been any signifigant artist to come from South Carolina in a while.

That WAS fun. You're still ignorant.

Thanks for the comment David. I'm glad to see you've started a similar website. I do wish Greenville Scene could continue but for several reasons I just can't do it anymore. I hope everything goes well with your site. Thanks, Michelle

I'm really sorry to hear that your closing. This website is really one of the reasons I started my music blog www.sceneSC.com 3 months ago. As you can see we are wordpress based blog also sharing a lot of the same features as you do. I'll do everything I can to help promote bands and musicians and art in the Greenville area as I am from there and hope to move back there someday.

We were at The Channel Saturday night for Read in Response and it is one of the nicest venues to listen to music in SC. I have also talked to a couple of guys that are working with Gypsy G's to help make them a better venue for bands to play. I really hope that the music scene in Greenville is starting to look up.

Sincerely, David
